I've found that being contantly internet connected with my PDA phone has improved the quality of my life. Waiting in line is no longer a chore. Got 45 minutes to kill waiting for a perscription? Line at Wendy's out the door? Single guy waiting for ten people who are apparantly shopping for 20 people (each!) at the grocery store? No problem! Take your time! I'm reading Digg!

Having passed time in line (Digg read, friend's blogs read, etc.), I have freed up time at home and work for more productive matters.

So, at first, this story made me very excited. YouTube viewing technology has heretofore been missing from my phone. But then read past the story title:
* charge of $15/month
* videos will be "curated"
* videos will be throttled

I personally do not consider $15/mo unreasonable... that is a lot of data being thrown around on their network. But then I consider the latter two aspects of the deal. Not only is it too much, but dare I say egregious.

The market will speak on this topic. If it goes the way of most analysts (Engadget, PC Mag, the Blogosphere, etc.), this will fail.

But who knows, "The Market" != "Internet Technorati". Remember, noone went to see the most anticipated movie of the century, "Snakes on a Plane!"

If they could at least remove the currated content aspect, I would consider switching for to VZW this. Until then, I'll be content to read static non-Ajax content on my phone...
